Using voice interfaces while working with computers is an idea that dates back to sci-fi like Star Trek and 2001 Space Odyssey.We came closer to realizing this dream thanks to Apple’s Siri,Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft’s Cortana.
The latest entrant in this space is : Salesforce.
It has announced to adopt the conversational voice interface for its world’s best in class CRM software viz. Einstein Voice !
It is going to be available in two flavors : Einstein Voice Assistant and Einstein Voice Bots.
Einstein Voice Assistant
Einstein Voice Assistant will make it easy for the sales people to enter information which otherwise was a tedious job to do with the screen-based UI.
For example, dictating notes & memos would be much easier now.Ditto about setting follow-up tasks. The Voice Assistant would be able to decipher the specific CRM fields that will need to be updated.
With the help of machine learning, it will even recognize the parlance of your organization !
Einstein Voice Bots
Einstein Voice Bots would enable the creation of voice-activated assistants for your own customers thereby clearly deepening their connection with your brand. . These voice-powered bots can be deployed with leading voice assistant technologies, such as Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant
Many interesting use cases come to mind quite easily for the Salesforce Service cloud. The voice Bots would be able to tap into past orders, case updates, knowledge articles.
The possibilities of what one can do with this new technology seem only limited by our imagination !
